Sunless Tanning FAQ's

1. How long will my tan last?

Your airbrush tan lasts between five and ten days and depends on how well you care for your skin. Moisturizing twice daily and following after tan care instructions, your tan will last longer. Long hot baths or showers, prolonged exposure to chlorine, and clothes that chafe, speed up the exfoliation process, removing your tan as the skin sheds itself. Using a tan extender designed to sustain the airbrush tan, or mixing body lotion with self tanner, at least once daily, will extend the life of your tan by 50% to 75%.

3. What do I wear for my airbrush tanning session?

For women, dark lingerie or a bathing suit is fine if you prefer tan lines or you may opt for no tan lines at all and wear nothing. Do not wear silk, satin, or nylon as the solution may stain these fabrics. For men, we require you wear a dark bathing suit, underwear, or a Speedo.

4. How does spray tanning work?

Your body is sprayed with a solution that contains percentages of DHA, a colorless derivative of sugar cane, which reacts with the amino acids in the dead layers of your skin, and over a period of a few hours turns brown.

5. Is airbrush tanning safe?

Yes! DHA has been approved for cosmetic use by the FDA. It is considered nontoxic and non-carcinogenic. DHA based sunless tanning has been recommended by the Skin Cancer Organization, American Academy of Dermatology, The American Cancer Society, and the American Medical Association.

We suggest those with severe asthma or with very sensitive skin refrain from spray tanning. Although there is no evidence that any of the ingredients in our tanning solution would cause a problem for nursing or pregnant mothers, please check with your doctor before receiving an airbrush tan.

6. Will the solution stain my clothes?

Wool and light colored nylon fabrics can definitely stain. Other light colored fabrics, such as cotton, may initially stain, but the solution washes out easily, pretreat before washing. We suggest wearing dark clothing to your tanning session and remaining in dark clothing until you are able to shower.

Leather and suede are natural skins. They can be tanned, just like you! Extra precaution should be taken when wearing light colored leather or suede clothing or sitting on leather or suede furniture.

7. Will the spray stain my hair?

No, most people won't see any affect on their hair, however light blondes, gray or platinum haired people may initially see some discoloration from the bronzer in the solution. It will wash out with your first shower.

8. How long does the process take?

It only takes 10 to 15 minutes for the technician to custom airbrush your entire body and then you dry for approximately 10 minutes. Total time involved, about 20 to 25 minutes.
